Description of Your Project Imagine if wind energy could be harvested in a completely different way. Grawindy is developing a patented next-generation wind energy technology that challenges the conventional approach to electricity generation from wind. Instead of relying on large rotating blades, our system uses an innovative oscillation-based, gravity-assisted mechanism to convert wind into electricity through a fundamentally different engineering principle. Our goal is not to replace existing renewable energy technologies, but to complement them. We envision Grawindy operating alongside conventional wind turbines and solar power plants, helping increase clean energy production from the same land while making renewable energy systems more efficient and versatile. After years of research, engineering development, and prototype testing, the technology has reached Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 6 and is protected by patents in Türkiye and 23 European countries. The global transition to renewable energy is accelerating, yet conventional wind power still faces significant technical and practical limitations. Large wind turbines require extensive spacing due to wake effects, occupy valuable land, involve high installation and maintenance costs, and cannot fully utilize existing renewable energy sites. At the same time, the growing demand for clean electricity requires solutions that can increase renewable energy generation without proportionally increasing land use or infrastructure investment. Grawindy addresses this challenge by enabling additional renewable electricity generation through a fundamentally different wind energy approach. Its primary market focuses on complementing existing wind farms and solar power plants, helping maximize the productivity of renewable energy assets while supporting a more efficient, flexible, and sustainable energy transition.
