'Team points' are awarded according to the adequacy of the solution with the type of innovations sought by Team for the Planet. They correspond to the analysis of several factors :
Submitted for assessment : After checking that an innovation is within the scope of the 20 issues Team for the Planet targets and that it has reached a sufficient maturity, the innovation is being assessed.

The shipping industry emits 900 million tons of CO2 each year. There is research ongoing on alternatives to fossil fuels to achieve zero emissions (green hydrogen, sails), but it will take a huge monetary investment and time to update the whole merchant fleet.
Green Navigation is a weather routing system that reduces fuel consumption up to 8% each trip. The solution has barely no cost to implement, as the weather data is already available. It only requires a computer on board, so Green Navigation can start reducing emissions right now.
Our target is the shipping industry, particularly the cargo ships. Green Navigation can be applied to any other kind of vessel too, reduces any type of fuel (even green alternatives) and can be adapted to optimize sail usage.
Our main feature is that we will take into account the uncertainty related to the weather prediction, to make more robust routes. We also plan on installing sensors on board that can give us performance monitoring and crowdsourcing.
