The exchanges were very rich and instructive, allowing them to understand the differences with the numerous other existing solutions. The chemical composition, the method of application, the thickness of the layers, and the durability... are some of the subjects that were discussed during this exchange. We can thus note that the integration of oyster shells in the formulation makes it possible to reduce the need for titanium dioxide (which brings the whiteness necessary for a high reflectivity), which makes it possible to improve the life cycle analysis of the product. For durability, the choice was made to use an acrylic formulation rather than polyurethanes, which are synonymous with high VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) that can represent a health risk. This exchange clearly shows a positive analysis, both on the relevance of the Cool Roof innovation (performance and composition) and on its potential on an international scale (differentiation, ease of implementation...).
