Sam is one of the two VULNERABLE skippers. VULNERABLE is an awareness-raising campaign initiated by the Advens for People and Planet endowment fund, which aims to convey a message: without changing our view of vulnerability, we can't change the world. Sam, the campaign's ambassador, has also decided to put the fame he's gained through his performances at the service of the climate and TFTP, a partner in the VULNERABLE coalition.
That's how we found ourselves propelled to his side and began to write a common story by building a campaign to bring together 100 top sportsmen and women to generate collective momentum. The planet is vulnerable and the ecological transition is underway. If we all team up together, we can change the trend. We can change the world!
For the first time, for 75 days, he will sail 45,000 km around the world, alone at sea, non-stop, in extreme conditions, all the while supporting the climate cause and Team for the Planet. So let's show him, alongside our great Team of sportsmen and women for the Planet, that we won't let him down, and together, let's give strength to the climate!
VULNERABLE is the name of a major awareness-raising campaign with one aim: to change the way we look at vulnerability. We usually think of vulnerability as a brake that slows us down. On the contrary, it can also be a sail that propels us forward - as on Thomas and Sam's boats - but it is also an indispensable superpower for facing the challenges of today and tomorrow. The Vulnerable.org platform invites everyone to discover the superpowers of vulnerability through an online journey featuring educational content, testimonials and digital experiences. Ultimately, the project aims to establish itself over time and unite as many players as possible within the VULNERABLE coalition.
A European leader in cybersecurity, its founder Alexandre Fayeulle is a major investor in Team for the Planet. In 2024, with its Advens for People and Planet endowment fund, Advens is the first company to put vulnerability at the heart of its raison d'être: "Turning vulnerability into strength for cyber, people and the planet". It is experimenting with a "global performance" business model, devoting at least 50% of its financial value to environmental and social projects. With this business model, the company aims to prove that economic, social and environmental value creation are inseparable and can grow together.

Offshore racing stable founded by Thomas Ruyant (skipper) and Alexandre Fayeulle and managed by Thomas Gaveriaux, housing the boats of Thomas Ruyant and Sam Goodchild. Based in Lorient (56), it is a structure dedicated to the design, preparation and management of sailboats and ocean racing programs. It is currently responsible for two Vendée Globe campaigns. Two boats bearing the same name: VULNERABLE. This bold and meaningful choice is a first in the world of sailing. The name echoes the VULNERABLE project launched by Advens: two high-performance boats, with two committed sailors on board, determined to put their respective performances and the media exposure their sport provides at the service of the useful and the common good: mankind and the planet.
